Summer Exploration 2009
June 15 ^th - August 27^th
A Complete Summer Program for Children Ages 2-5


Week 1: June 15-19
Dancing with the Stars
Children will learn about different dancing styles and movement activities. We will listen to music from around the
world, paint to music, sing songs and learn new dances.

Week 2: June 22-26
Under the Sea
Children will learn about Ocean Life, activities at the beach and boating.

Week 3: June 29-July 3
Clean Up America
Children will learn about keeping America clean and Independence Day. Practice: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

Week 4: July 6-10
Jungle Cruise
Let’s go on a Safari! Exploring the Jungle with animals, rainforests, rivers, and more!

Week 5: July 13-17
Rock & Roll Week
We will have so much fun dancing and singing to great Rock & Roll classics. Children will experience new music, creative art activities and lots of movement fun!

Week 6: July 20-24
Fairy Tales
Children will listen to and re-tell classic Fairy Tale Stories. Children will explore characters, problem solve their situations, draw characters and have fun with cooking!

Week 7: July 27 – 31
Vacations
Share our favorite vacations, observe photographs from vacations, discuss geography, food, and languages.

Week 8: August 3-7
Under the Big Top
Lots of music, colorful creations, dress up, and mystery! We will create our own animal tricks, and have our faces painted.

Week 9: August 10-14
Summer Olympics
Children will learn about different summer sports, explore and observe equipment that is used, and practice following rules of the games.

Week 10: August 17-21
Over the River & Through the Woods
We will discuss forests, rivers, and other terrain. Children will find out what animals live in these habitats and what they eat.

Week 11: August 24-27
Space Odyssey
We will learn about planets and moons, discuss space exploration, constellations, and create our own solar systems.
